Overall, netball was the most popular sport among women, whereas men showed the greatest interest in soccer. By contrast, cricket and netball were the least preferred sports for women and men respectively. Additionally, netball accounted for the highest proportion of participants in both genders.
As can be seen from the chart, approximately 25% of males played soccer, while the figure for females was considered lower, at only 5%. Regarding other sports, the proportion of men was roughly twice as high as that of women, standing at 20% and 10% respectively. Similarly, a significant gender disparity/ gap was evident in cricket, with 10% of males joining in comparison with a mere 2% of females.
Looking at the chart in more detail, the percentage of women playing netball stood at 25%, a figure which was significantly higher than that of men. In addition, swimming attracted 23% of females, compared to only 14% of males. Regarding tennis and basketball, these sports accounted for 6% and 7% of the total participants for each gender respectively. Finally, jogging was the least popular activity with figures for both sexes standing at a mere 3%.
