The graph illustrated the trend of women in America surfing the Internet in 2000 and 2001 respectively.
To begin with, the number of female internet users in 2001 was slightly greater than the figure in 2000 among different age groups. The apparent increase in the percentage of ladies’ population using the Internet obviously reflected between different age groups, 16-18, 36-45, 46-55 and 65+, while nearly 10% of population growth was carried out on the use of internet by females in USA. Girls aged 16-18 even reached a perfect 100% on internet usage in one year.
In addition, the young widely utilized the internet than the old in both years. Compared with the smaller age group from 12 to 35 years old and the elder group aged 36 and above, only one fourth of respondents in the former group did not use the internet while the usage of internet by the older group was below 70%. For the eldest group, it still stagnated at about 30%.
