Overall, while majority of companies experienced a significant reduction on time during the period, ford was only exception and increased the duration on producing of vehicles.
The Nissan company accounted for the most time expenditure to manufacture cars with 38 hours in the beginning of the period . However , they experienced a steadily decline for several years and hitting the low of 21 hours. A similar pattern can be observed for General Motors which time duration spend on producing cars dropped from 32 hours to 24 hours.
Conversely,Ford which was the fastest producer of cars with 25 hours in the beginning of the period and saw a minimal increase to 27 hours which was the highest figures for the company in the chart . Following year it reached 6 hours per car .The DC company experienced erratic behavior in 1998 it was the second on the chart with 33.40 hours and a sharply declined for upcoming year . The time required to manufacture cars were stable until 2001 and decreased and reaching 28 hours by the end of the period.
