Overall, apartments were the most preferred housing type in Liverpool, while semi-detached houses were the predominant choice in both other cities. Additionally, terraced houses received the least attention in all cities.
Looking at the figures for Liverpool, which exhibited a marked divergence from the other cities. Apartments outnumbered the rest of housing types, standing at nearly 60%, significantly higher than roughly one quarter for detached and semi-detached houses. The proportion of housing preferences for terraced houses was minimal, making up just approximately one tenth.
London reported a more stable trend in house selection. Semi-detached houses were the top choice, closing to 40%, followed by about 28% contributing to apartments. Detached houses and terraced houses registered more modest figures, particularly, roughly 25% for former and nearly one fifth for the latter.
Finally, Manchester was the only city to have two types of houses leading the rankings. Detached and semi-detached houses were the most favoured, accounting for nearly 80% overall, whereas, around 18% Manchester residents preferred apartments and only 10% for terraced houses.
