The diagram depicts five distinct international cellphone brands with their sale counts from 2009 to 2013.
Overall, in the years 2009 and 2011, Nokia dominated in terms of sales numbers, whereas Samsung surpassed Nokia’s sales numbers and became the best-selling brand, after 2 years. In addition, other well-known brands failed to capture those considerable numbers of sales over the 4 years.
In 2009, although Samsung and Apple had the lowest count around 200 and 10 million, in 2013, it demonstrated a substantial rise to circa 440 and 150 million sales, respectively. In contrast, however, Nokia showed dramatic growth in phone sales in 2009, with approximately 420 million, after 2011, it experienced a considerable reduction from circa 420 to 220 million. A by-product of this, LG also shared a similar trend, from approximately 110 to 80 million sales over the years. In the immediate wake, ZTE statistic illustrates that the sale numbers of cell phones were below 100 million and it remained relatively stable between 2009 and 2013.
