Overall, Nokia sold the most mobile phones between 2009 and 2011, but Samsung became the best selling brand in 2013. Samsung and Apple saw the biggest saw the biggest rises in sales over the period.
In the year of 2009, a number of mobile phones sold by Sam sung, Nokia were almost 220 million and 450 million units respectively. Four years later, Samsung grew significantly by around 220 million units, while Nokia saw a drop in its sales by a similar amount. In 2013, Samsung became the market leader with the figure , reaching 450 million units.
In 2009, the number of handsets sold by Apple, LG and ZTE were around 25 million , 125 million and 50 million units respectively. After two years, Apple had a considerable increase to nearly 100 million units and continued to climb in 2013. Cell phones’s ZTE in 2011 grew minimally and this figure remained stable in the end of the period.In constrast, there was a constant fall in LG over the period.
