The bar chart compares the production of four types of grains cultivated in three particular nations, including India, the USA and China, measured in tonnes per hectare, in 2001.
Overall, China achieved the highest yields of rice and other grains, while the US led in wheat and barley cultivation in 2001. Additionally, other grains were recorded as the most produced crop across all three countries.
Regarding rice and other grains, the outputs for these grains of China surpassed the remaining nations. Precisely 10 tonnes of other grains were harvested in this country, which was a tonne greater than the production of the US and approximately five times the amount that India produced. A similar pattern was witnessed in rice productivity, with 5 tonnes in China, 4 tonnes in the USA and 1 tonne in India.
As for wheat and barley, the US ranked first in the yields of these grains. Specifically, this nation harvested over 7 tonnes of barley, whilst China’s output was lower by 1 tonne and that of India was roughly one-seventh of the USA’s yield. In addition, approximately 3.5 tonnes of wheat were cultivated in the US, which was three times the amount India produced and about a tonne higher than China’s cultivation.
