Overall, there was an increase in the production of wind power in all countries examined, with Denmark showing the most dramatic rise and becoming the largest producer by 2000. Meanwhile, the United States generally recorded the highest figure throughout the period.
In 1985, wind power in Denmark started at just over 200 megawatts ,which then saw a significant increase to more than 1,600 megawatts in 2000.In contrast,the figure for Germany rose steadily from exactly 400 megawatts in 1985 to roughly 900 megawatts at the end of the period.
The United States generated about 1,200 megawatts of wind energy in 1985 ,which then climbed sharply to just over 1600 megawatts and it finally declined slightly to approximately 1,500 megawatts in 2000. Meanwhile, India produced the smallest amount of energy in 1985 (around 200 megawatts) at the beginning of the period;however, this number grew considerably to exactly 1,200 megawatts by 2000, surpassing Germany.
