Overall, Hamburgers were popular among high as well as average salary people whereas Fish and Chips most eaten by low and average income citizens. Consumption of hamburgers and pizzas grew significantly over the years. However, fish and chips decreased generally.
High and average income individuals spent on hamburgers just ove 40 and 30 pence each week. Moreover, low income individuals spent just under 15 pence. In terms of fish and chips, it was most popular among average earning citizens which generated for 25 pence. While high-payed and low-payed people accounted for around 18 pence.Pizzas most loved by high income people and they spent exactly 20 pence a week. Average as well as low salary individuals’ expenditure on pizzas were approximately 12 and 8 pence respectively.Furthermore, the consumption of hamburgers and pizzas were around 90 and 40 gramms in 1970.
