Overall, the most popular option was watching TV, both for young and old people. However, the least ones were relaxing and sport activities. Youngsters spent about 2.4 hours daily watching TV shows, while this rate almost doubled when it came to the oldest individuals aged 75 and over.
Both types allocated almost the same amount of time for socializing and having meaningful conversations with other people, 0.8 and 0.7 hours respectively. Playing games and using computers for leisure were mainly favoured by young individuals, spending more than an hour daily. On the other hand, the eldest people spent half an hour doing these activities.
Old people spent very little time on toning their body and muscles, but this rate tripled when it came to relaxing. In contrast, youngsters allocated little time for relaxation and mostly paid attention to keeping themselves fit by spending 0.6 hours on a daily basis.Reading was not a common option for young people, but it was favoured by oldest individuals spending an hour daily.
