The given line graph depicts the variations of crime rates in the heart of Manchester city in a span of nine years starting from 2003. As per this chart, it can be easily determined that there are three issued atrocities ( Burglaries, Car Thefts, Robberies).
Overall, there was a significant change in the incidents of the crimes, in the beginning of the given period, burglaries were the most significantly committed crime, whereas robberies recorded the lowest number of incidents; however, at the end of the aforementioned period, the prevalence of car thefts was the highest, while robberies remained the least committed atrocity.
Regarding burglaries, in 2003, their number of incidents was just below 3500 crimes per year. However, in 2004, there was an abrupt incline in the crime’s incidence, accounting for nearly 3700 incidents. In the period between 2004 and 2008, there was a gradual plummeting in burglaries dominance, with a record of roughly 1250 in the year 2008. The four consequent years showed a consistent rate of burglaries.
On the other hand, in 2003, and for a two years period, car thefts incidence was equal, with an approximately 2750 annual crimes. Conversely, the growth pattern of car thefts was moving erratically, to end up with 2300 incidents in 2005. As for personal robberies, they maintained a flat pattern throughout the entire period, except in 2005, it showed its highest peak of incidence, while in 2008, it demonstrated its lowest peak of occurrence.
