The line graph depicts the variations of crime rates in the heart of Manchester city over nine years, starting from 2003. There three atrocities are ( Burglary, Car Theft, Robbery).
Overall, there was a significant change in the number of incidents over the given period in which burglary was the most frequently committed crime at the beginning of the period, whereas robbery recorded the lowest; however, at the end of the aforementioned period, car theft incidents were the highest. As for robbery, it remained the least perpetrated atrocity.
If we scrutinize burglary, the number of incidents was just under 3500 crimes in 2003. Then in 2004, there was an abrupt incline accounting for nearly 3700 incidents. Between 2004 and 2008, there was a significant decrease in burglaries’ dominance, to record roughly1250 in the year 2008. The four subsequent years showed a fluctuation ending at approximately 1300 crimes.
Turning to Car theft, between 2003, and 2005, car theft incidents scored just about 2750 crimes. Consequently, it plummeted to just over 2000 crimes in 2008. Later, it moved erratically to record around 1300 crimes in 2012. As for robbery, it remained around 600 incidents, except in 2005, it showed a high peak of nearly 800 crimes, while in 2008, it demonstrated its lowest peak ( 500 crimes).
