The line graphs illustrate how many incidents of three crime types in Newport city centre over 9-years period from 2003 to 2012.
As can be seen the graph, most the number of incidents in three types fluctuated over given period of time. Additionally, the number of burglary cases showed a downward trend.
In 2003, the number of burglary most stood at approximately 3400 cases, around 600 higher than that of car theft. Meanwhile, not many robbery accidents accured with roughly 750 cases in the city centre. By mid-2006, the number of burgary stil remained the most inccidents dispite a drastic decline.
The number of car theft inccidents officially exceeded burglary in mid 2006 to become the most popular in the kinds of crime. After that, more and more incidents happened and reached its peak at 2800 cases. During burglary plumted and in 2008 onwards, this figure remained stable, ending up around 1400 cases. There are a similar pattern between car theft and robbery from 2007 to 2012 and cam in third in types of crime with roughly 750 cases in the end of period.
