The line chart depicts the transformation made in three criminal activities that happened in Newport city centre between 2003 and 2012.
Overall, burglary had the major decline whereas, car theft had increased significantly over the decade. Burglary had the all-time highest amount of crime whilst robbery had the lowest among all.
According to the question, burglary and car theft had the number of incidents around 34000 and 27000 respectively. While car theft remained constant till 2005 maintaining 27000 but, burglary had slight increase in 2004 reaching its peak of approximately 37000 then saw a sudden drop till 2008 reaching just around 10000. However, car theft only declined for a year reaching 20000 and gradually increased till 2012. While, burglary stayed evenly till 2012 after a small growth from 2008 to 2009. At the end of 2012, the difference among two was about 12000.
Moreover, robbery started with just above 500 incidents in 2003. The number of incidents was constant throughout the period with the peak of 900 in 2005 and the low of 500 in 2008 and ending with 600 in 2012.
