Task 1
The bar chart delineates the financial support given to six distinct types of charity by an individual company over the period from 2012 to 2014.
In general, most categories followed upward trends throughout the period, except for the environment field. It is clear that the social welfare sector received the highest financial support in three years while wildlife and arts received the least.
Looking at the details, the amount of monetary assistance in the social welfare field led the rank, starting at 23 million dollars in 2012. This figure then went down to 15 million dollars in 2013 before rocketing to approximately 25 million dollars in 2014. Compared to other categories, social welfare received the highest donations. The donations for education and environment were lower, at about 8 million in 2012. The figure for education was stable in 2014, while the figure for environment slightly decreased to 7 million in 2014.
Regarding the remaining categories, the figures for health, wildlife and arts all experienced upward trends. Health donations steadily increased over the years, starting at around 6 million dollars in 2012 and rising to nearly 10 million in 2014, emerging as the second highest field to receive donations. Similarly, the charitable aids for wildlife and arts were around 3 million in 2012 and slightly increasing to 5 and 4 million in 2014, respectively. As a result, arts consistently received the lowest donations throughout the period.
