The chart illustrates the primary causes of the decline in the productivity of agricultural land, in three different continents.
Overall, overgrazing has been the main problem for agriculture in Oceania. Europe is the most damaged region because it suffered from various agricultural problems such as deforestation, over-cultivation and the other causes. North America has the lowest figures of degraded land among the three regions.
Oceania recorded more than 10 percent degraded land because of the over-grazing problem, while deforestation was reatively limited. The other category accounted for less than 1 percent. Over-cultivation bieng the important cause for land degradation in North America recording around 3.7 percent as the highest figure across the four categories, over-grazing presented Approximately 1.6 percent. while deforestation and ”other” category have the same figures.
Europe has the highest figures in most of the land degradation main problems, deforestation presented around 10 percent as the essential cause of land degradation in europe, over-grazing acounted for around 5 percent. The over-cultivation and the other category recorded fairly similar percentages, with around 7.9 percent for over-cultivation and Approximately 7 percent for the ”Other” category.
