The bar chart compares the data of the amount of families living in the US based on their yearly earnings in three seperate years : 2007, 2011 and 2015. Overall, it can be seen that, people who earn $100,000 or more were in the peak level, where the number of families whose income was $75,000 – $99,000 remained same over 8 years period. Furthermore, some fluctuations was seen for remained data sets, but ultimately they increased over the years.
Looking at the data sets that increased in more detail, it is evident that the number of families whose annual income is $100,000 or more was 29 millions in 2007, which dropped suddenly in 2011, but eventually it increased to 37 millions in 2015. Moreover, the households with $75,000-$99,000 annual income showed a slight increase from 14 millions to 16 millions over the timeframe. Significantly, people earn $100,000 or more contained the greatest value on the bar.
Turning to the remaining data sets that decreased and remained same, it is clear that, the number of residences with annual income $75,000 – $99,999 showed similar trend i.e. 22 millions for all the three years. By contrast, the number of people who earn $25,000 – $49,999 were the second highest which are 27 millions in 2007, 29 millions in 2011 and 28 millions in 2015. Through they were the 2nd peak level, there was observed a slight decrease. Finally, 27 millions families earned less than $25,000 in 2011, which was 25.5 millions in 2007. Ielts writing task 1.
