Overall, the number of US households in the income group $50,000 – $99,999 remained unchanged throughout the given period of time. In addition to this, a steady growth was observed in the number of households in the rest of the income bracket.
The total number of households who had less than $25,000 income was 25 million in the year 2007, which went up in 2011 by considerable amount (nearly 4 million). However, in 2015, it decreased, and the number of households was just between 25 – 30 million. Similar trend is observed in the number of households who lies in the group $25,000 – $49,000, peaking at 30 million households in 2011 and somewhere between 25-30 million in other two years.
On the other hand, the sum of households who had more than $100,000 of income was highest (just below 30 million) in 2007, which fluctuated in the following year and rocketed above near to 35 million in 2015. While the families with the income between $50,000 – 74,999 and $75,000 – $99,999 remained stable throughout the period, 20 million and near 15 million respectively.
