The given chart shows the number of people in the United Kingdom involved in full-time and part-time education during three different time intervals.
The given bar chat displays that during the period of 1970/71 there were ten hundred thousand male students in part-time education however, in full-time education only 100 thousand students were enrolled. The number of males in the part-time education fell to 850 thousand in the next interval of 1980/81 but the bar representing full-time learners rose slightly. In 1990/91 the number of male students continued to increase in full-time education on the hand the number of pupils in part-time study also rose to about 900 thousand.
The chart also indicates the number of female students during the same period. We can see that in 1970/71 the number of female students was less than males, the number of female students involved in part-time studies was between 600 and 800 thousand while the number of full-time learners was really small. During 1980/81 the number of full-time female students surpassed the males and there was also a slight increase in part-time learners which grew to 800 thousand. In 1990/91 the population of part-time female students escalated substantially and crossed the ten hundred thousand mark which was greater than male students.
In conclusion, the number of both (male & female) full-time students continued to grow from 1970s to 1990s. However, the number of part-time male students saw a drop in 1980/81 but increased again in 1990/91. On the other hand, the number of female students showed continued growth from 1970/71 to 1990/91.
