The chart below illustrates proportion of registered road vehicles used in the fiscal years 1996 and 2006 in a European country. The transportation modes are private cars, motorcycles, bus, lorries and other types overall.
Overall, private cars uses were in the top position during those years, while others were used in negligible quantity. On the other hand, the growth of uses from 1996 to 2006 were the highest for others types.
As can be clearly seen from the graph, 19 million private cars were used in 1996, then increased to 24 million in 2006. On the other hand, other types used 1.2 million in 1996, before increasing to 1.9 million in 2006. Besides, the uses of lorries decreased from 0.5 million in 1996 to 0.4 million in 2006. And motorcycles decreases from 1.0 million to 0.6 million, in 1996 and 2006 respectively, while an interesting point to observe that the number of buses were same during two fiscal years.
In terms of changes in percentage, private cars and other types seen growth, which is about 28% and 58% respectively. But buses seen no changes. On the other hand, lorries and motorcycles seen negative growth, -20% and -40% respectively.
