In 1995, LaGuardian was ranked the highest airport used by almost 38 millions travellers, between 1996 and 1998, the number had climbed to reach just under 50, except in 1997, it has been taken over by John F.Kennedy airport by nearly 5 millions. three years later it reached the peak of just under 70 million traveller, making it on top of the list.
By 1995, John F.Kennedy airport was used by approximately 28 millions while Newark recorded below 20 milions. John F.Kennedy hit a peak of nearly 48 million traveller in 1997, before it fell back 1998 to just slightly under 40, whereas Newark rose to reach over 40 milions. Between 1999 and 2000, John F.Kennedy visitors went up to around 55 millions, while Newark remained steady to about 42 millions commuters.
