In 2010, the UK had the highest proportion of households connected to the internet, at 73%, followed by Japan standing at 68%. Brazil had more than a twofold difference in comparison with Japan, accounting for almost one-third of connections, whereas India ranked the lowest among the four countries, at 8%.

A decade later, both the UK and Japan reached a saturation point, standing slightly below the maximum, with 96% and 93% of households provided with internet connection, respectively. In contrast, Brazil’s connected households proportion surged by 50%, reaching its peak of 81%. India climbed over fivefold to 43%, representing the highest proportional increase, though still accounting for the lowest share.
