Overall, it is clear that the percentage of those in Munster and Connacht who spoke Irish was higher and dominated, while other two provinces indicated lower fractions.
With regard to Munster and Connacht, the fractions were almost similar. Munster’s percentage of Irish-speaking people hit 34%, remaining stable till 1986. In three upcoming years, it showed significant increases, 32% in 1991, 42% in 1996, and 47% in 1992. Connacht also experienced such changes in fractions of Irish speakers- as there, the percentage was a slight higher than Munster. Its last year percentage was 49%. As far as Leidenster is concerned, it showed a fluctuation in the first three years given, indicating a fraction of a 35% average. In 1996 and 2002, however, it experienced a dramatic increase, 37% and 38% respectively. Ulster, on the other hand, remained stable in terms of the fractions in 30%, and it surged to 42% in the latter year.
Average fraction of Irish speakers in Ireland was the same as the Ulster phase, but there was a little disparity in 2002-the percentage of state was 42%.
