Overall, there was increase in the percentage of native Irish language speakers.
Considering the data given, The Republic of Ireland(State) and the Leinster had almost same percentage of increase of native language speakers. In 1981, the percentage of people speaking their native language was around 29% which rose minimally till 1991. Growing significantly to almost 40% in 1996, it grew by around 2% .In Leinster, the Irish speakers were around 27% in 1981 and flactuated to reach the same number of speakers in 1991. It then grew, and reached to around 36% in 2002.
There was a common trend seen in Munster and Ulter. Before an increment in the number of irish speakers, there was a stable state. Before a surge, the percentage of speakers were almost 33% in 1981 and 1986 which grew progressively to 45%, and was the highest among all in 2002. Speakers of Irish language where around 29% in 1981 and 1986 which rose gradually to almost 40% in 2002.
