As can be seen from the chart, the ratio of residents getting news by television , newpapers and radio decreased while that of internet underwent a climb over the period shown. Another striking point is that the figure for television always held the lion’s share through the survey.
In terms of data for television and internet, the percentage if population receiving news via television was higher than that of internet, under 80% compared to over 30% in 2013. In two years later, the figure of television experienced a steady decline to around 68% while that of internet increased slowly by 10%. There was a gradual increase of about 3% in the share of people getting news by televison while the data for interner witnessed a significant growth from 40% to under 70% between 2015 and 2017.
Regarding the remain group, the ratio of citizens accessing new by newpapers and radio in 2013 was at over 40% and over 31%, respectively. In terms of data for newpaper and radio from 2013 to 2015, the former decreased quickly to 30% while the latter underwent a moderate drop of 2%. During the last 2 years of the survey, the proportion of residents updating new via radio leveled out at 30% while that of newspapers still decreased slightly to over 20%.
