The bar chart demonstrates the proportion of individuals in one country who approached news through various types of media over 3 years in 2013, 2015 and 2017.
As is observed, traditional media consisted of television, printed newspapers and radio which was seen a downward trend throughout 3 years except for Internet. In addition, the remarkable point is that television was used commonly to update the daily news, while people did not prefer accessing news via magazines or radio.
Looking at the figure in more detail, the number of population utilizing television taken the lead in 2013 ( 80%) but after that, this declined slightly in 2017 ( 70%). Regarding the figure of newspapers readers, there was a significant decrease in that from 41% ( 2013 ) to 21% ( 2017 ). Meanwhile, the percentage of people staying informed on the news by modern media was experienced a dramatic raise from 31% to 68%. The others was stable throughout 3 years with approximating 30%.
Furthermore, the proportion of citizens who kept themselves updated the current news via television was the highest in 2013, contrary to modern media in this year ( 80% against 31% ) .However, 4 years later, almost people updated news by using Internet popularly. It is prove that the percentage of social media users climbed up to the second rank in 2017 ( with 68% ), just lower than television users.
