The bar graph illustrates the proportion of various types of household waste, namely plastic, cans, paper, and glass that were recycled in a specific city between 1992 and 2002.
Generally, the percentage of all kinds of recycled waste increased in 2002 than the start of the period. The rate of recycled plastic waste in 1992 was the lowest throughout the period. There was a fluctuation in the proportion of all types of recycled waste in 1997.
The rate of recycled glass waste increased sharply in these years, starting with just below 20% and reaching around 47% in 1992, 2002, respectively. The recycled paper waste witnessed a gradual growth as well, by just above 20% in 1992, to nearly 40% at the end of the period.
The percentage of recycled cans varied in these years, beginning with approximately 17%, then fell gradually to around 12%, and again slightly rising to just above 20%. Recycled plastic waste didn’t change significantly, as it started with exactly 10%, and increased to over 10% in 1997 and 2002.
