As for the plastic recycled, the figure experienced a gentle increase to around 13% in 1997, and then plateaued until 2002. On the other hand, the percentage of cans reprocessed declined from 1992 to 1997 to approaximately 15%, but encountered a resurgence in the five years after.
As for the percentages of paper and glass recycled, the figures indicated sharp and consistent growths, both gained over 25% over the decade. Moreover, the proportion of glass reprocessed topped the chart in 2002, at nearly 50%.
