There was a sudden surge in wholegrain bread, hitting a peak of 1.8 euros in 2002 before shrinking drastically to 1 euros in 2003. Furthermore, the price of 800 grams wholegrain bread reduced slightly to its original cost by 2005.
In terms of brown and white types of bread, each cost was 0.6 euros per 800 grams in the first year. Following this, both types of price increased significantly, the former had an increase of 1.6 euros, with the latter, the growth of approximately 1.1 euros by 2003. However, despite white bread cost went up moderately to just below 1.4 euros, the brown price fluctuated between 1.6 and 1.4 euros by the end of the period.
When it comes to rye bread, the figure started at 0.6 euros in the beginning. Rye bread cost per 800 grams stayed at almost the same position, and there were no noticeable changes. The cost of it hovered, around 0.5 euros between 2001 and 2003. Then, the price of rye bread rose slightly to roughly 0.7 euros after remaining stable by the end of the period.
