Overall, the total distance increase, with bus and rail being the most favorite types of transport in both years. Notably, passenger kilometers of bicycle and motorbike fell in contrast to air transport, figure for which rose.
In total, passenger kilometers were approximately 110 billion in 1990 and went up significantly, making up around 115 billion in decade.
Regarding the most used types of transport, the bus travelled about 47 billion kilometers in 1990, prior to modestly increasing this figure to around 49 billion, remaining the most favorite vehicle. Similarly, the figure for rail accounted for roughly 46 billion kilometers in 1990 and went up in decade, converging the bus.
As for the remaining vehicles, bicycle and motorbike showed slight decrease from approximately 6 and 7 to 5 and 6 billion kilometers, respectively. Meanwhile, passenger kilometers rose negligibly from roughly 5billion in 1990 by about 2 billion.
