The chart illustrates export earnings of a particular country by five categories between 2015 and 2016 and the table give information about how export values changed for each type of product.
Overall, there were increases in the export earnings of petroleum product, engineered goods, agricultural products and textiles, while the opposite was true for the remaining sector. Additionally, the percentage change in values of germs and jewellery witnessed a downward trend while upward trends are recorded in other categories.
Looking first at the export values, petroleum products dominated export earnings in both years, increasing from 60 billion dollars in 2015 to over 60 billion dollars in 2016. There were a modest growth in the export earning of textiles , growing to 32 billion dollars in 2016. A similar upward trend was seen in export revenue of engineered goods and agricultural products. While the former witnessed a increase from 57 billion dollars in 2015 to 60 billion dollar in 2016, the latter rose in lower level by 1 billion dollars. In contrast, earnings from germs and jewellery expert decreased slightly by 2 billion dollars.
Regarding the percentage change in values of categories,textiles experienced the most growth at 15.24%, followed by engineered goods at 8.5%. While the proportion transformation in value of petroleum products rose 3% from 2015 to 2016, agriculture product was the lowest growth level at just 0,81 %. Conversely, there was a significant decrease in the value of gem and jewelry.
