This report examines the attendance patterns of men and women at the cinema in 2018, categorizing preferences by film genre, alongside the age distribution of cinemagoers.
Looking at the first diagram, we can see that male viewers tend to watch action and romcom films significantly more than female viewers. However, women prefer historical dramas and westerns more than men, but not by much.
The pie chart shows that the most frequent age of cinemagoers is between 26 and 44 and accounts for 38 percent. One component is noticeably different when other component’s patterns are almost similar. Cinemagoers who are 56 years old and over account for only 6 percent.
Male and female attendees choose different types of films, but men lead in action films and women lead in historical dramas. The most popular age of viewers is between 26 and 44 years old. This data suggests that a significant proportion of cinema audiences in 2018 were young adults or younger.
