The bar chart compares the percentages of people in four different age groups who have moved house either in the last three years, between three to five years or not within the last five years.
Overall, younger people were more likely to change their residence, while older individuals tended to stay in the same house for a long period. On the other hand, the percentage of people who did not move increased with age.
People aged 20 to 29 were the most mobile group with 45% moving house three or five years ago and 33% in the last three years. The same trend can be seen among those aged 30 to 39, where 44% moved three to five years ago and 34% moved more recently. Only about 22% of both age groups had stayed in the same place for over five years.
In contrast, people aged 40 to 49 had the highest figure for moving three to five years ago, at 55%. However, the oldest group, those aged 50 or above were the least likely to move, as 42% of them had not changed their house in the past five years.
