The chart gives information on the average percentages in typical meals of the three types of nutrients:sodium,saturated fat,and added sugar.
Major of these nutrients are consumed when having snacks or dinner.While other meals also contribute in the consumption of these nutrients,but are in lesser share compared to snacks and dinner.
Snacks are the reason for highest intake(42%) of added sugar in a meal,while they hold lowest share(14%) in sodium intake.Moreover,around one fifth of saturated fats going into body is due to snacks.Night meal,dinner is accountable for large percentage of almost all three nutrients,most amount of saturated fats(37%) and sodium(43%) in body are contributed by the dinner.On other hand dinner offer a small share in addded sugar which is 23%.
Breakfast is responsible for 16% each for two nutreints ‘added sugar’ and ‘saturated fat’,while sodium consumtion by means of breakfast is just 14%.Furthermore,lunch gets in 29% of total sodium and 26% of total saturated fats.Moreover,19% of total added sugar is brought into body by lunch.
