The diagrams demonstrate the average share of sodium, saturated fat, and added sugar in standard meals. This is important to consider because such constituents are harmful if consumed excessively.
Generally, breakfast has the least amount of all three components. Conversely, dinner is the highest in sodium and saturated fat content, while snacks are full of added sugar.
The sodium percentage is highest in dinner and lunch, forming 43% and 29% of the meals respectively. On the contrary, it is only 14% of breakfast and snacks. Saturated fat share is highest in the former meals as well, amounting to 37% and 26% in dinner and lunch respectively. On the other hand, it forms only 21% of snacks and 16% of breakfast.
Regarding added sugar, its highest percentage is in snack, amounting to 42%. Dinner comes next, followed by lunch, and finally breakfast, forming 23%, 19%, and 16% of the three meals respectively.
