The pie charts show the average amount of nutrients namely sodium, saturated fat and added sugar consumed by individuals in the USA.
It is clear that sodium and saturated fat mostly consumed at dinner time whereas snacks contain the highest amount of sugar.
Sodium and saturated fat’s intake during the morning are relatively low, both around 15%. The intake of these nutrients are significantly high at dinner time with 43% and 37%. At the lunch time the citizens of USA consume sodium and saturated fat quite similar with 29% of sodium and 26% of saturated fat. Additionally, breakfast consistently contributes the least to the intake of three nutrients, 14% of sodium, 16% of saturated fat and 16% of added sugar. The intake of added sugar during snacks is approximately double that of saturated fat. The consumption of sugar at lunch time is comperatively lower than those of first two pie charts
