The given charts are figures revealing data about the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and number of hours spent doing housework in households in one country from 1920 to 2019.
Overall, the most time spent doing housework per week was in 1920, and then it fell gradually. Also, the percentage of households with electrical appliances rose dramatically.
As the graphs show, there was no vacuum cleaner in households in 1920, and from 1940 to 2000, it was the most used among all the other appliances. Moreover, only 30% of people owned refrigerator in 1920, and from 2000 to 2019, both refrigerator and vacuum cleaner were being used in all houses. While all the percentages for electrical appliances were increasing, the figure for washing machine ownership fell slightly from 1960 to 1980.
Additionally, individuals spent less time using those appliances as time went by;therefore, the number of hours of housework per week plummeted from 50% in 1920 to 10% in 2019.
