Overall, it can be seen that refrigerator was the highest proportion of households with electrical appliances, while washing machine was the least one. In addition, the number of hours of housework per week had a downward trend over the period shown.
In 1920, the amount of time spent doing homework in households hit a peak at 50 weeks, but after this year it was continuously decrease. Additionally, in the same year, washing machine was the most-preferred electrical appliances in households, with 40. In contrast, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner were lower, at about 2% and 30%, respectively. Moreover, after the year 1940, both of refrigerator and vacuum cleaner experienced a drastic rise, increasing from about 55% in refrigerator and 50% in vacuum cleaner to hit their peak at 100% in 2000. Meanwhile, washing machine was the highest proportion in 1940, at 60%, but after the year 1960, it became the least-preferred electrical appliances in households.
By 2019, both refrigerator and vacuum cleaner were still hit their peak at 100%, whereas washing machine had only about 73% in that period of time. Similarly, since the amount of time spent doing homework in households continuously decrease, it reached the lowest point in 2019, at only about 11%.
