At first glance, it is clear that the numbers travelling abroad increased rapidly over the period. The percentage of tourists coming to Australia also increased, like the numbers travelling to a foreign area.
In 1985, the numbers travelling abroad was at its lowest, at approximately 6 million. However, it started to rise significantly and reached about 11 million five years later, that is, in 1990. In the nex year experienced a slight decrease from about 11 to 10.5 million. In the following years the numbers. travelling abroad grew considerably from about 11,5 million and reached a peak around 15 million by the end of the period.
In 1985, there was no activity in the percentage of tourists coming to Australia. Australia’s share of Japan’s tourist market witnessed a dramatic rise from zero to around 5 percent, between 1985 and 1988. In the next year, it dropped to 4.5 percent. There was considerable growth in Japan’s tourist market between 1985 and 1988. Finally, it witnessed a gradual drop, ending at exactly 6 percent.
