The charts below show the percentage of Australian men and women in three age groups who were employed in 1984, 2001, and 2014. It is easy to see that the age groups of the men and women were big difference.
In terms of men, the 15-19 age group was keep stable at 40% but in 2014 had sudden change when increased 60%. Specially, the data of 35-44 age group always remains at high level at 80% because there were the working age. Although the 60-64 age group was past the working age but in 2014 still increase about 60%. Because the world was entering the phase of population aging.
In term of women, the figures of the 15-19 age group remained stable at about 60% to 1984 from 2014. Next moving to the middle-age group, that age group significant increase from nearly 60% to 80% in 2014. Ironically, similar growth came from 60-64 age group as they increase from 10% to over 40% employed in 2014. This shows that both male and female was change towards the older than working age trend.
