Conversely, the percentage of men classified as obese experienced a steady rise, growing men in the overwheight category remained relatively stable, hovering around 40% while the dangerously obese group saw a mariginal increase.
In contrast, women experienced a sharper decrease in the healthy weight category dropping from roughly 48% to only 32% by 2002. This decline was largely mirorred by a rise in both overwheight and obese categories. Notably, the percentage of overwheight women increased from 32% to roughly 38%, making it the largest category by 2002, surpassing those with a healthy weight. Similar to men, the dangerously obese percentage for women remained the lowest but showed a slight upward trend.
