The two pie charts illustrate the proportion of people aged 23 to 65 in various employment status, in Ashby and in the UK, in 2008.

Overall, similarities can be seen in shop work and professional work and also personal service and office work being two biggest employers in both locations.

In detail, the biggest proportion of Ashby residents worked personal service, with 21% , while the whole country was fewer , 17%. The office work was the most popular in the UK (19%),also came second popular occupation in Ashby, resulting 18% . However, jobless population in Ashby and whole country showed substantial numbers, with 14% and 10%.

With regards to remaining occupations, there was a big percentage of construction work in Ashby which was 10% in the United Kingdom. While the period saw professional work was more popular than in Ashby that was 14% in the UK.
