The pie charts provide information on the proportion of water usage for industrial, agricultural and domestic purposes in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia.
Overall,it is evident that Central Asia and Africa have the highest proportion of water usage for agricultural purposes,the proportion of water usage for domestic purposes is the same across all aforementioned areas.
Taking a critical analysis of the charts, South America recorded 71% of water used for agriculture with relatively low proportion for domestic and industrial purposes at 19% and 10% respectively.In contrast, North America and Africa used 13% and 9% water respectively for domestic purposes.Also, Africa had one of the highest proportion of water usage for agriculture at 84%.On the other hand,Europe utilized the highest proportion of water for industrial purposes at 53% and recorded the least proportion of water usage for agriculture at 32%.
However, Central Asia used the highest proportion of water for agricultural purposes at 88% followed closely by South East Asia at 81%.Both regions consumed the same proportion of water for domestic purposes at 7% each.Altogether,Europe had the highest proportion of water used for industrial purposes at 53%.Whereas, Central Asia recorded the highest proportion of water usage for agriculture at 88%.
