In the same regions, the lowest portion of water is utilized for domestic use, i.e., 10% in South America, 7% in Africa, and 7% in Central Asia, except in North America (13%), Europe (15%), and Southeast Asia (7%).
Moreover, unlike the previous trends, North America has the highest amount of water usage for industrial use, i.e., 48%, and Europe at 53%, which is more than half of the total consumption. Additionally, these regions have almost double the water used for industrial purposes compared to agricultural use.
