The pie chart depicts the proportion of water used for distinct purposes in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. Overall, most of the countries shown here use water in agricultural areas except North America and Europe, where industrial use is more.
Regarding agricultural use, Eastern countries invest most of their water supply, almost above three-fifths of their capacity, in contrast to Western countries, which use less compared to them. Europe uses the least amount of water, 32%. North America uses almost half of its proportion in industrial use, which is nearly 10% higher than Central Asia, which uses only 5% of water in this category.
As informed in the diagram, domestic use of water is
higher in the Western part, about 13% and 19%, and moderate in Europe (9%) and Africa (15%), but lowest in the Eastern part, the same in Central and Southeast Asia, exactly 7%.
