It’s clearly evident that most of the total oil resources in the world were held in the Middle East representing 56.52 percent of the resources. Canda occupied a second place with a quiet difference as it comprised 14.84 percent. Other areas showed much less contribution to the world’s total oil proportion beginning with Central and South America with 8.12 percent, ending with Australia and New Zealand that formed the lowest oil resources of all areas around the world averaged only 0.30 percent.
According to the given data, Asia, the United States and Western Europe occupied the first three places among all regions in regards to the world’s total annual oil consumption by 26.21, 25.48, 19.24 percent respectively.
Overall, the Middle East and Canada which showed much lower percentage of annual consumption that it given oil resources. This implies that oil resources and consumption were not directly proportional, expect for Australia and New Zealand.
