The charts illustrates a breakdown of consumption of protein and calories in 3 distinct regions of the world. Overall, the consumed amount of protein and calories in North Americans both exceeds the recommended threshold.
Looking at the average protein intakes, it is clear that the figure for North America is the highest among all regions, with 80 units in total, including 62 units of protein originates from animal, and 12 units from non-animal sources. The second highest data is of Latin America, with 47 units, consisting of 32 units of animal-derived protein and the rest from other sources. East Africa and India residents consume 31 and 28 units, respectively. In addition, unlike the above regions, the intake of proteincoming from animal in India is less than 50% of the total consumption.
In terms of calorie intakes, North America is the only region that has overconsumed amount, which also means that it claims the top ranking in the bar chart, with 3500 calories. Latin America’s figure is the second highest with 2800 calories, only 100 under the ideal amount. The amount of calories that each East African and India consumed are 2300 and 2000, correspondingly.
