The provided graph and table illustrate the water usage worldwide and consumption in two different countries.
Overall, the global water usage has increased significantly in all sectors over a span of 100 years. Furthermore, Brazil is higher in terms of population, irrigated land, and water consumption per person compared to Congo.
At the start of the 20th century, roughly 500km^3 of water was used for agricultural purposes, this figure gradually increased over 100 years. By the year 2000, 6 times the initial volume of it was utilised for farming.
Until 1950, there was little to no growth observed in usage of water in the industrial sector. After that, its utilisation grew exponentialy, and by the end of the given period 1000 km^3 of water was taken in by industries and factories. Domestic usage witnessed a relatively lower growth rate compared to other industries, it started to rise from 1960 and by the start of the 21st century less than 500km3 of water was utilised in households.
Brazil has a population of 176 million, 26,500 km2 of its land is used for farming and each person drinks roughly 360 litres of water. Contrastingly, the Democratic Republic of Congo has less impressive statistics. It has a small population of 5.2 million and only 100 km2 of its land is irrigated. The water consumption per person is just 8l.
