Overall, it can bee seen that school certificate was the most widespread level of education for the people 16-24 years old, whereas university degree was the most popular for the people 25-34 years old and the biggest proportion of people with no qualifications was allocated for seniors. Furthermore, same proportion of men and women had school certificates in 2010.
Regarding educational level by age ranges, it is clear that the most part of people in the youngest group (16-24 years old) had school certificate – 66%, whereas 25% of them had a university degree and the lowest share of them did not have any qualifications. In contrast, in the next group (25-34 years old) 53% had university degree, whereas 35% had school certificate and the 12% were without any education. Almost the same percentage of people aged 35 to 44 had school or university education – 38% and 36% respectively, whereas the figures for people with no education were 26%. Among people 45-59 years old there was more people without qualification – 39% than with school certificate – 35 % and university degree- 26%. The percentage of people without any education was higher in next two age ranges (60-74 and 75+ years old) – 55% and 72%, whereas the lowest proportion of people had university degree.
Focusing on education level by gender, it is worth noting that 39% of men and women of all ages had school certificates, whereas the figures for university degree were higher for men – 32% than for women – 29%. Finally, there was more women without any qualification – 32% than men – 29%.
