The pie charts illustrate various destinations to which goods and services from Argentina, Chile, and Mexico were exported in 2004.
Overall, while the US was Mexico’s largest export market, Argentina and Chile exported most of their goods and services to other regions and Latin American countries.
It can be seen clearly from the charts that the US accounted for the vast majority (87%) of Mexico’s exports, compared to only 10% from Argentina and 19% from Chile. The pattern was reverse as regards markets in other Latin American countries. In particular, about one third of Argentina’s and Chile’s exports were found in these countries, whereas they received only 2% from Mexico.
Although Europe was the second largest export market of all three given countries, there was a noticeable disparity in the shares, with figures of 24% for Chile, 18% for Argentina, but only 6% for Mexico. Argentina exported the largest percentage of goods and services to other regions (41%), whose figure was in turn double and eight times that of Chile and Mexico
